DMA League Day Art Tour

Dynamic DNA by Brad OldhamDate: Wednesday, September 11
Time: Coach leaves DMA at 9:00 a.m. SHARP. Returns at 5:30 p.m.
Sign-up: Monday, July 15, 10:00 a.m.; sign-up link sent via email

Have you seen sculptures around Klyde Warren Park and Deep Ellum?  They’re creations of artists Brad Oldham and Christy Coltrin. Wouldn’t you like to hear how it all got created? You’ll meet them and see a demonstration of their work.

Want to be in the home and studio of famed artist Nic Nicosia, whose work is in the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney, the Guggenheim, the Museum of Contemporary Art, LACMA, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and our DMA? You’ll meet him next.

Lunch at Al Biernat’s North

Then Sharon Corgan Leeber, art expert and president of a global arts consulting firm, will share stories about her collection of international artists: Richard Serra (New York and Nova Scotia), Roger Ballen and Hilary Graham (South Africa), Jonas Gerhard (Berlin), Theodore Waddell (Montana), and numerous others.

We end our day at the private exhibition space initiated by Howard Rachofsky and the late Vernon Faulconer, The Warehouse. We’ll be escorted through The Sensation of Space, incorporating one exhibition of two Dallas collections in dialogue: the Nasher Collection of modern and contemporary sculpture and The Rachofsky Collection of postwar modern and contemporary art. This is the piece de resistance!
