All current DMA Members are welcome to join the DMA League for an additional contribution.

An accomplished curator, seasoned scholar, and lively speaker, Sarah Schleuning, the DMA’s Margot B. Perot Senior Curator of Decorative Arts and Design, is the speaker for our November 11th meeting. Fresh from curating last fall’s Women and Design and this Spring’s stunning Dior: From Paris to the World, Sarah Schleuning will introduce us to the DMA’s fascinating new exhibition speechless: different by design, which brings together immersive new works by six designers and design teams to explore the ways in which we connect to the world around us.

This Pop-Up Cocktail Hour will feature the art of Dallas artist Nic Nicosia, who will be our keynote League speaker on May 4, 2020. Nicosia is recognized as a pioneer of the staged photographic movement that came into prominence in the early 1980s. He graduated from UNT in Radio-TV-Film with a concentration in Motion Pictures. His work has been acquired by the Guggenheim; MOMA; the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; the DMA; the Whitney Museum of American Art; LACMA; and others.

Don’t miss this exhibition—a compelling look into how life is full of bugs, featuring sculpture, drawing, and photography made over the past three years.
