Museum Forum for Teachers
Monday, July 6–Friday, July 10, 2020
An immersive ONLINE summer program for educators presented by The Warehouse, Nasher Sculpture Center, Dallas Museum of Art, Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, and Kimbell Art Museum.
Note: This program will now be offered as an online learning experience, but an application will still be required. Application deadlines have been extended.
Participating middle and high school teachers in all disciplines are invited to:
- Participate in online group discussions and creative activities designed to deepen understanding of contemporary and modern art and architecture
- Develop strategies to teach, interpret, and use works of art in both online and classroom settings
- Connect with thematic explorations of collections, resources, and staff from each museum
- Exchange ideas with other classroom teachers
For the 2020 Museum Forum “COVID-19 Virtual Edition,” tuition ($275) will be waived; participants are instead invited to “pay what you can” with recommended amounts that are divisible by five: $50, $100, etc. The regular application deadline has been extended to June 12, 2020.
How Will This Work?
Daily sessions will consist of online group discussions (morning session 10 - 11 a.m. and afternoon session 2 - 3 p.m.), virtual presentations by museum staff, and related at-home creative exercises with basic materials. Participants will receive 4 hours of CPE credits per day, 20 over five days.
