Guided School Group Visits

Guided visits of the Museum are free of charge. Trained volunteer docents lead engaging, age-appropriate tours for K–12 students in a variety of themes that encourage students to engage with works of art, develop and express ideas and opinions, and make personal and academic connections. Guided Visits of the Museum (In-Person)

To adhere to social distancing guidelines, we are currently not offering in-person guided tours of the Museum. As restrictions ease, we will begin reimplementing them; please check back regularly for updated information. In the meantime, we encourage you to explore our virtual tour options below.

Virtual: Pre-Recorded K–12 School Tours

Pre-Recorded Virtual School Tour Request Form (opens September 1, 2020)

Whether you are distance teaching or in the classroom, pre-recorded videos are a flexible option you can implement at your convenience. Upon receiving your request, we will share a link to a selection of 10-minute videos. Each video includes a discussion of artworks connected to your tour theme with prompts for close looking, strategies for engagement, and ideas to move beyond discussion. Educators will receive supplementary material prior to the program date. Virtual Pre-Recorded School Tours are available beginning September 22, 2020.

Virtual: Live K–12 School Tours

Live Virtual School Tour Request Form (opens September 1, 2020)

Live Virtual School Tours are available for K–12 classrooms that are meeting synchronously via video or face-to-face.Trained docents will join your class video conferencing platform and facilitate a 45-minute version of your chosen program consisting of an interactive discussion of artworks. Educators will receive supplementary material prior to the program date. Live Virtual School Tours are offered Tuesday–Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m beginning September 22, 2020.

Virtual: DISD My DMAzing 4th Grade Tour

DISD 4th Grade Virtual School Tour Request Form (opens September 1, 2020)

This custom tour with specialized curriculum themes is designed specifically for Dallas ISD 4th grade students and their teachers. Whether you are distance teaching or in the classroom, pre-recorded videos are a flexible option you can implement at your convenience.
