Spring Break Family Fun
March 15–18, 2022

This Spring Break, stop by the Museum to rest, recharge, and restart with art! Discover art that fills your cup during this fun-filled week of art making, guided tours, and gallery activities, all inspired by works of art in the DMA’s collection. Each day of the week will feature a different community guest and accompanying activity. Spring Break programs are held daily March 15–18.

In-Gallery Activities
11:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Center for Creative Connections (C3)

Find inspiration in works of art from the DMA’s collection in Rooted. Explore people’s relationship to the changing environment through groupings of works that span centuries and global cultures. Drop by to build your own sculpture inspired by everyday objects, play with a train table or design your own zoetrope to explore movement, create your own “Call to Action” environmental poster, and more.

Pop-Up Art Spot
Noon–2:00 p.m., Level 4

Looking for a hands-on experience in the DMA galleries? Visit the Pop-Up Art Spot for activities related to shapes, as well as a poetry activity, all inspired by nearby works of art.

Community Guest Spotlight
1:00–2:00 p.m., various locations

Spend time with a different community guest each day of Spring Break! Whether you’re a yogi or a bookworm, drop by to participate in an activity alongside different local experts who make our city special.

Restart with Art
1:00–4:00 p.m., Founders Room

Is there a person or place that helps you feel peaceful and calm? Drop into the studio and use watercolor pencils, brushes, and paper to create your own peaceful picture.

The Future of Dallas with Forward Dallas
1:00–4:00 p.m., Art Studio 1, C3

Celebrate the opening of the Rooted exhibition and imagine what the future of Dallas could be through interactive and collaborative activities in the studio.

VIF (Very Important Family) Tours
2:00–2:30 p.m., Meet at the main Guest Services Desk

Tour groups are limited to groups of 10 people or less and must consist of family or friend groups. Sign up for tours beginning at 1:30 p.m.
Grab your family or friend group and take an interactive tour of the Museum’s collection. Book your own private tour with a DMA educator and experience art that feels like a breath of fresh air.
