Karla García

January-April 2019

Karla García's work explores the concept of memory through materials such as clay, glass, and corn husks. She uses digital fabrication techniques and processes to create works that spark a conversation about culture through the lens of personal family history. García is originally from the border city of Juarez, Mexico. She received her MFA in Studio Art and a Art Museum Education Certificate from the University of North Texas in 2019 and her BA from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2001. She has exhibited work regionally at the University of North Texas and Texas Woman’s University.

From January-April 2019, García exhibited Carrito de Memorias in the Center for Creative Connections.
