She uses digital fabrication techniques and processes to create works that spark a conversation about culture through the lens of personal family history. García is originally from the border city of Juarez, Mexico. She received her MFA in Studio Art and a Art Museum Education Certificate from the University of North Texas in 2019 and her BA from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2001.
