As the city’s museum, the Dallas Museum of Art plays an important role in creating and sharing opportunities for our community to engage with art and creativity. We want our visitors not only to feel excited and inspired by our collections and exhibitions, but to feel safe and welcome in our galleries. With that in mind, we’ve been working hard to put in place new health and safety measures that will enable our visitors and staff to feel comfortable and secure during their time on-site.
Following that planning, and the guidelines from federal, state, and local officials, we’re pleased to share that we’ll be welcoming the community back very soon. The Museum will reopen to the public beginning Friday, August 14.
Please also note that until further notice, we will operate under modified hours:
- Thursdays, 2:00–8:00 p.m.
- Friday through Sunday, 11:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
- Closed Monday through Wednesday
In advance of your visit, you’ll need to reserve a free general admission ticket online.*
*Once you have secured your general admission ticket, you will have the opportunity to add a matching timed ticket to the special exhibition For a Dreamer of Houses at an additional cost.
Our Museum is a community space where all are welcome, so we ask for everyone’s support and collaboration in following new protocols for your visit; this will ensure that you—and everyone around you—will have a great experience at the Museum and can enjoy it safely.
In addition to these new measures, we’ve instituted enhanced cleaning schedules and standards, reduced the Museum’s visitor capacity, and created a low- and no-touch visitor experience throughout the Museum. For more about what to expect during your visit, please read our FAQ Page.
Until you visit us on-site, we’ll continue to offer an array of enriching opportunities to engage with art, learn, and create through the DMA’s online resources and platforms and on our social media channels.
We look forward to seeing you in-person or online very soon.
